Apple is anticipated to deliver its new generation of iPhones the following month, on the customary Tuesday/Wednesday release schedule of September.
Fans have been anticipating the event to take place either on September 10 or 11 and now a new leak suggests the confirmed date.
Tipster Majin Bu, on Monday, August 19, posted a leaked invitation to the upcoming Apple event, which revealed that the event could take place on September 10 at 10 am California time or around 10.30 pm India time.
The invitation features a brown-ish Apple logo with the text “Ready. Set. Capture.” written under it, which is quite in line with Apple’s rumoured camera-centric Capture button on the iPhone 16 Pro models.
According to what I was told by a source who asked to remain anonymous, the new Apple event where the iPhone 16 will be presented, will be held on September 10 2024.

Over the last four years, Apple has announced its September events on these dates.
- 2023: An event scheduled for September 12 was announced on August 29.
- 2022: An event scheduled for September 7 was announced on August 24.
- 2021: An event for September 14 was announced on September 7.
- 2020: September 8 announcement for a September 15 event.
Recently, Apple has begun revealing event dates approximately two weeks ahead. With an event date of September 10, Apple might introduce the iPhone 16 around August 27.
What can we expect from the iPhone 16 series?
Apple’s iPhone 16 lineup is set to introduce some exciting updates, with “Apple Intelligence,” a new suite of AI features, as the main highlight. This AI technology will be available on all iPhone 16 models and will also work with the iPhone 15 Pro versions. However, it’s uncertain if this alone will convince users to upgrade.
The non-Pro iPhone 16 models will get the Action button, a feature previously found only on last year’s Pro versions. But with iOS 18 offering a more customisable Control Center and adjustable Lock Screen, the Action button might be less important.
The base iPhone 16 models are also expected to see a change in the camera design with lenses being vertically aligned and not diagonally — similar to the iPhone 11 and 12 design.
A new camera button will be added to the right side of the iPhone 16 Pro models. This button will function like a DSLR camera, allowing users to slightly press for autofocus and press harder to take photos. It will also let you swipe to zoom in and out while shooting photos and videos.
The Pro models are also expected to have slightly larger screens. The regular Pro will increase from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, while the Pro Max will grow from 6.7 inches to nearly 6.9 inches.
As usual, Apple will introduce new colour options, with the Pro models likely to see a change in the blue variant and a return of the popular rose gold. All iPhone 16 models will feature the new A18 chip and 8GB of memory, which is needed to run Apple Intelligence.
