Indian Railway Change Booking Rules, Details Inside

Indian Railways has decided to enable passengers to reserve tickets only 60 days in advance, effective November 1. The railway currently allows passengers to reserve train tickets up to 120 days in advance.

The railway ministry issued an order in this regard on Thursday. Indian Railways examines and changes policies for the convenience of its passengers; this is another example.

In the order issued by the Railways ministry, it has been stated that currently, passengers book reserved tickets 120 days in advance. But from 1st November, this period will be reduced to 60 days. This will not have any impact on tickets booked till 31st October and passengers will be able to book tickets 120 days in advance before commence of November. Passengers will also be able to cancel tickets for which more than 60 days are left in travel.

Daytime trains will be exempted from the changes

The new change in rule will not have any impact on daytime trains such as Taj Express and Gomti Express. The time period of such train will remain the same as before. In addition, the new rule will also not have any impact on foreign tourist trains, where bookings can be made 365 days in advance.

Previously booked tickets will not be impacted

Many people must have booked their tickets as soon as the reservation started for festivals such as Diwali-Chhath. If you also did, then you do not need to worry. The railway’s decision will not have any impact on tickets booked till 31st October. This means that tickets can be booked for up to four months till the end of this month, but from November 1st, tickets can be booked for only 60 days.
