The death toll from the early Saturday building collapse in Delhi’s Mustafabad area has reached 11, with rescue teams continuing efforts to locate any remaining survivors beneath the debris. Among the deceased is the building’s 60-year-old landlord, Tehsin. Authorities confirmed that eight victims belonged to the same family, including three women and four children.
According to a list released by the Delhi Police, 11 others sustained injuries of varying severity. Six have been discharged after receiving treatment, while five remain hospitalized.
The four-storey structure collapsed around 2:39 am, trapping multiple occupants under the rubble. Additional DCP of North East District, Sandeep Lamba, confirmed the timeline. Divisional Fire Officer Rajendra Atwal told ANI that emergency responders, including the Delhi Fire Service and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), rushed to the scene shortly after receiving a call at 2:50 am.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed sorrow over the incident, offering condolences and announcing an official probe. She assured that teams from DDMA, NDRF, and DFS are actively engaged in ongoing rescue operations.
