India vs. Bangladesh: Team India sets the world record for fastest team fifty and fastest team hundred by getting there in three overs and ten overs respectively during day four of the second Test in Kanpur on Monday.
Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal used a T20-style batting approach to score the fastest fifty in Test cricket history in just three overs against Bangladesh at Green Park in Kanpur on Monday. This milestone was accomplished on the fourth day of the second Test match, with the opening partnership of Yashasvi Jaiswal (30 runs from 13 balls) and Rohit Sharma (19 runs not out from 6 balls) playing an important role in the achievement.
India broke the record for England to score the fastest team fifty by getting there in just three overs. Earlier, in July, England broke its 30-year-old record for the fastest recorded men’s team Test fifty, reaching the 50-run mark in only 4.2 overs against West Indies at Trent Bridge.

India’s success was part of an even more dominant performance, as they also set a new record for the fastest team century in Test cricket, reaching 100 runs in just 10.1 overs, surpassing their previous record of 12.2 overs set against the West Indies in 2023.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was particularly impressive, scoring 68 runs off 41 balls, including 12 fours and two sixes. His aggressive attitude, combined with support from Shubman Gill (11 off 11 balls), increased India’s run rate to 10 runs per over. Despite early bowling efforts by Hasan Mahmud and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the Indian squad dominated and cruised at a brisk tempo.
