With a hat-trick of series victories in mind, India will begin their tour of Australia on Friday in Perth, where they will face a challenge from pace and bounce. India has won 2-1 over Australia in their last two Test trips, but they arrive Down Under in a vulnerable position after dropping the Test series to New Zealand.
The first Test on the tour, which will be held in Perth, will make things much more tough for India, as they will most likely be without skipper Rohit Sharma in the opener. India and Australia will face off at Optus Stadium in Perth, a stadium where they have only played one Test before, but the conditions are quite similar to the WACA, where they have been preparing for the previous few days. The Indian batsmen must be mindful of the speed and bounce in Perth, which have frequently tormented visiting teams.
India’s record at Perth
India have played four Test matches at WACA, Perth and only managed to win once on the 2008 tour when Irfan Pathan was named Player of the Match for his all-round show. He claimed five wickets and scored 74 runs across two innings.
