The Cabinet, chaired by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, was informed of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on cooperation in the field of Digitization and Electronic Manufacturing signed on August 18, 2023 between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of the Republic of India and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Memorandum of Cooperation aims to strengthen collaboration in the fields of digitization, electronic manufacturing, e-government, smart infrastructure, e-health, and e-education, as well as to promote collaboration in digital innovation research and the use of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), robots, cloud computing, and blockchain.
This Memorandum of Understanding would provide a framework for collaboration in the fields of digitalization and electronic manufacturing and establish partnerships between India and Saudi Arabia.
The MoC aims to promote innovative training and development methods in digitization and electronics manufacturing through e-Teaching, e-Learning, and exchange programs, and to develop joint training programs for capacity building and access to highly skilled Information and Communication Technologies professionals, as well as to strengthen the SME and start-up ecosystem by sharing information on business accelerators, venture capital, and incubators of technology start-ups.
The partnership efforts under this MoC will foster cooperation in the areas of digitization and electronic manufacturing, which are essential to the Atmanirbhar Bharat goals.
