Delhi Liquor Policy Case, Manish Sisodia and Other Accused Individuals' Assets Were Seized

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) attached assets worth over Rs 52 crore belonging to Manish Sisodia, the jailed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, and other accused people engaged in the Delhi liquor policy scam on Friday.

According to NDTV, the seized assets include properties belonging to Amandeep Singh Dhall, Rajesh Joshi, Gautam Malhotra, and others involved in the case.

The action by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) comes just one day after the agency detained Delhi businessman Dinesh Arora, who is believed to be close to Mr Sisodia. The ED investigation into the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam is separate from the one being investigated by the CBI.

According to AAP leader Atishi, the center has planted tales in the media to destroy Mr Sisodia’s image. “One of the two flats seized by the ED was purchased by Manish Sisodia in 2005, which is 18 years ago. The other flat was purchased in 2018, according to the ED’s papers. “This was many years before the new excise policy was even implemented,” she stated.

Mr. Sisodia, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, and others are accused of wrongdoing in the implementation of a new spirits sale regime in the national capital. Last year, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena directed the CBI to conduct an investigation.

Following that, the Delhi government reverted to the previous liquor policy, blaming the Lieutenant Governor for the loss of crores of rupees in revenue that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration said would have resulted if the new policy had been implemented.

The BJP accuses the Delhi government of reverting to the previous liquor sales policy to cover corruption in the excise department. The CBI investigates the influence of the “South Lobby” and politicians in the scheme. Authorities aim to establish the truth and hold those responsible accountable.
