The JoSAA 2024 counselling dates have been released by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). June 10, 2024 is when counselling will commence, and June 9 is when prepayment of the JoSAA seat acceptance fee will start. Counselling will be available to interested candidates who have passed both the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. On June 9, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras will make the JEE Advanced 2024 results public.
The JoSAA 2024 counseling process is conducted to obtain a seat at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information and Technology (IIITs), and other government-funded technical institutes. There will be five rounds in JoSAA counseling with one extra round for NITs only. No further chance will be given to candidates after the conclusion of the registration process.

June 15: Display of mock seat allocation 1 based on choices filled
June 17: Display of mock seat allocation-2
June 18: Registration last date and choice filling

June 20-25: Online reporting, including fee payment, document upload, and response to queries
June 26: Last day to respond to queries for Round 1
June 27: Announcement of Round 2 seat allotment
Steps to apply
Step 1: Visit the official JoSAA website at josaa.nic.in
Step 2: Click on the counseling registration link given on the website
Step 3: Enter your credentials such as JEE Main application number, date of birth, and security password
Step 4: Fill in your choice of course and college, among others
Step 5: Review and lock the filled-in choices
Counseling Process
Registration and choice filling: Candidates must register on the JoSAA portal and fill in their preferred colleges and courses.
Mock seat allotment: JoSAA will release two mock allotments on June 15 and June 17 for students to better understand the allotment process. This will give candidates an idea of their potential seat allocation based on their choices.
Seat allotment: The actual seat allotment will be conducted in multiple rounds. The first round of seat allotment will be announced on June 20, followed by several rounds of online reporting where candidates must confirm their seats by paying the required fees and uploading necessary documents.
Online reporting: Candidates allotted seats in any round must respond within the specified timeframe. This includes payment of fees, document verification, and responding to any queries raised by the authorities.
Candidates have the option to withdraw or exit from the seat allocation process.Â
