IIT Delhi’s Abu Dhabi campus will partner with prominent UAE higher education institutions, including Khalifa University, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and Zayed University.
The collaborations aim to enhance research, student and faculty exchange programs, training initiatives in AI, and shared lab facilities. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, inaugurated the IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus.
Khalifa University will collaborate with IIT Delhi on academic and research programmes, providing access to research facilities, lab spaces, and exchange opportunities for students and faculty. Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi will engage in joint research projects, postgraduate student exchanges, and host scientific seminars and meetings. Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence will work with IIT Delhi on joint research initiatives, backed by seed project grants, and offer short training programs, internships, and collaborative teaching opportunities. Zayed University will host student and faculty exchange programs, collaborate on education and research projects, co-supervise graduation research, and organize academic events such as joint conferences, seminars, competitions, and workshops.
The IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus will offer a BTech in Energy Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering, as well as an MTech in Energy Transition and Sustainability (ETS). Sheikh Khaled highlighted the institute’s role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s efforts to tackle climate change and produce future sustainability leaders. Other dignitaries who attended the inauguration included Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Shamma Al Mazrui, Reem Al Hashimy, Sara Musallam, Mubarak Hamad Al Mheiri, Rima Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, Sunjay Sudhir, Professor Rangan Banerjee, and Professor Shantanu Roy.
