IIT Bombay Partners with BITS Pilani

“This MoU bridges academia and industry, opening new doors for research, skill development and innovation. Together, we look forward to providing ample opportunities to our students so that they are all set to succeed in the future with the emergence of pharma, healthcare and engineering,” says BITS Pilani Vice Chancellor Professor Ramgopal Rao.

Professor Shireesh Kedare, the Director of IIT Bombay, highlights that the collaboration between IIT Bombay and BITS Pilani will unite the top talents from two of India’s leading institutions. He expresses anticipation for groundbreaking research projects that tackle real-world challenges and foster the country’s growth.

This MoU will pave the way for research collaborations, industry-focused consultancy, student internships, and joint applications for research funding. Both institutions will priorities ecosystem development by fostering close ties between academia and industry, hosting visiting faculty, and forming precompetitive consortia for research in emerging technologies. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and BITS Pilani have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on research, innovation, and skill development.

This partnership will see both institutions working together on joint research projects, utilizing their respective facilities, and engaging in third-party collaborations to advance their shared goals.

The MoU will establish a framework for collaboration to foster academic and industrial engagement, promote knowledge transfer, and develop technologies that address societal challenges. The primary objectives of this partnership include joint research projects, consultancy services, student internships, faculty exchanges, and the development of cutting-edge technologies.

The collaboration will focus on several key objectives, including enhancing knowledge management, advancing technological development, and upskilling human resources through continuous education.
