Erling Haaland has broken the Premier League goal-scoring record for the most goals scored in a single season.
The Manchester City striker became the first player in EPL history to score 35 goals in a single season with a superb lobbed finish 70 minutes into Wednesday’s 3-0 triumph over West Ham.
Nathan Ake had headed City ahead five minutes into the second half before Haaland’s goal, which was set up by Jack Grealish.
Phil Foden’s goal at the Etihad Stadium marked City’s 1,000th goal since Pep Guardiola took over as manager in 2016.
Prior to Haaland, Andy Cole and Alan Shearer held the record with 34 goals in the 1990s, when the Premier League was a 22-team competition.
