Gujarat Police Bust Fake Medical Degree Scam

They provided medical degrees to even class 8 graduates for ₹70,000 apiece. The group operating in Gujarat’s Surat, with a database of 1,200 phony degrees, has been apprehended.

Gujarat police apprehended 14 phony physicians who bought degrees from the group. According to the authorities, Dr. Ramesh Gujarati, the primary culprit, has also been arrested.

The accused offered degrees “issued by” the “Board of Electro Homoeopathic Medicine (BEHM) Gujarat”. The officers discovered hundreds of applications, certificates, and stamps in their possession.

Police have arrested three individuals who were operating an allopathy practice in Gujarat. The revenue department and police raided their clinics, where they found fake doctor degrees issued by BEHM, which the police claimed were fake.

The main accused discovered there were no regulations regarding electro-homoeopathy in India and planned to set up a board to offer degrees in the course. He hired five people and trained them in electro-homoeopathy, which they completed in less than three years. When people became apprehensive about electro homoeopathy, the fake doctors changed their plans and started offering degrees issued by the Ayush Ministry of Gujarat, claiming that BEHM has a tie-up with the state government.

They charged ₹70,000 for a degree and offered training, claiming it would allow them to practice allopathy, homoeopathy, and Aarogya without any problems. The certificates were issued within 15 days of payment and had validity.
