The Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, said it was closing the case in the wrestlers’ sexual harassment case because the purpose of their plea – the registration of a FIR against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh – had been met by the Delhi Police.

“We close the proceedings at this stage, keeping in mind the scope of these proceedings.” If petitioners want something further, they can go to the magistrate or the High Court in their jurisdiction,” CJI DY Chandrachud said.
