With voting completed in Haryana’s 90 Assembly seats today, all eyes are on the exit polls. According to NDTV’s Poll of Polls, the Congress is expected to make a big come back picking up 55-62 seats. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is aiming for a hat-trick in the state, could win 20-32 seats, according to the poll. At 5 p.m., the voter turnout was 61%.
After high-octane campaigns and elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, it’s time for Exit Polls. Four exit polls have given an edge to the Congress in Haryana. The Congress-National Conference alliance is ahead in Jammu and Kashmir but no party has been shown to cross the majority mark, as per two exit polls.
Haryana voted today. A total of 1,031 candidates are contesting in all 90 assembly constituencies, and 20,632 polling booths have been set up for voting. The results for the Haryana Assembly elections will be declared along with those of Jammu and Kashmir on October 8.
Health Warning: Exit polls are not always accurate.
