Aashiqui 3: After the announcement of the making of Anurag Basu’s new film Aashiqui 3 which will star Kartik Aaryan as the male lead, all eyes were on who is going to take over the female lead. Speculations took rife that Beyhadh actor Jennifer Winget will star opposite the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ actor. To bring a stop to the escalating rumours, the T-Series spokesperson has released an official statement.
The official statement states, “There is no truth to any rumours pertaining to the female lead opposite Kartik Aaryan in ‘Aashiqui 3.’ The search for the perfect fit for the movie is still ongoing. We are currently in a very early stage where we are still coming up with ideas for the movie. Much like the audience, we are eagerly awaiting to finalize the female lead of the film and would love to share it with the fans as early as possible.”
Kartik Aaryan shared the film announcement on social media via a brief title video of the superhit track ‘Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum’ sung by Arijit Singh playing in the backdrop. The song was originally a playback sung by Kumar Sanu in the 1990s ‘Aashiqui’.
“Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum. Zeher Zindagi Ka Pi Lenge Hum #Aashiqui3. This one is going to be Heart-wrenching!! My First with Basu Da,” the ‘Love Aaj Kal’ star wrote on Instagram.
The makers are yet to announce the female lead of the film.
Anurag Basu’s frequent collaborator, composer Pritam will be scoring the music for ‘Aashiqui 3’.
The original ‘Aashiqui’, directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starring Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal, was a commercial success owing to Nadeem-Shravan’s music and songs penned by Sameer, Rani Mallik, and Madan Pal.
A spiritual sequel to the film, ‘Aashiqui 2’ (2013) was directed by Mohit Suri and featured Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead.
The second part also turned out to be a huge blockbuster. The songs of the film are composed by Jeet Gannguli, Mithoon, and Ankit Tiwari with lyrics by Irshad Kamil, Sandeep Nath, Sanjay Masoomm, and Mithoon.
