The World University Ranking: Sustainability 2024, published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), features the world’s universities that are at the forefront of social and environmental sustainability.
The University of Toronto took the top rank, followed by the University of California, Berkeley, and The University of Manchester, in the QS World University Ranking: Sustainability 2024 list.
The top three Indian institutions on the worldwide university list for sustainability are the University of Delhi, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, and Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
There were no Indian universities among the Top 100. The University of Delhi was placed 220th, IIT Bombay 303rd, and IIT Madras 344th. Overall, 56 universities from India made it to the list.

The rankings, according to QS, are based on a system that includes measures meant to assess an institution’s ability to address the world’s most pressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) concerns.
Nearly 1400 universities from across the world are represented, with the University of Delhi ranking 220th. The university received the highest score of 91.8 in Environmental Education as an indicator.
