Denmark’s Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, Morten Bødskov who is on an India visit has said that he sees India as a “partner” in “green future” with his country bringing the clean technology and India the scale.
Speaking to WION, he said, “you’ll see more collaboration between Denmark and Indian companies, we see more private to private collaboration…investing together in a more green future, especially when it comes to tackling climate change, finding ways towards a stronger green way of living, sustainable way of living.”
The minister participated at the Re Invest 2024 conference in Gandhinagar, which is the biggest meeting on non renewable energy in India. Bødskov also met with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, water and shipping minister to discuss new opportunities, with focus on deepening economic and technological ties. During the talks his focus was also on green shipping.
The minister explained that India and Denmark can work together to fight the issue of climate change. He said, “We share the same values, the need to tackle climate change, we share many of the same views on bringing technology, scale together, and that’s where we can make a difference.”
There’s a significant presence of Danish companies in India, with nearly 200 Danish firms active in the world’s 5th largest economy, contributing to job creation and promoting Danish green technologies. “The Green strategic partnership is the new framework for many of the India-Denmark activities that Danish companies are doing in India now. So my visit is part of bringing our relationship to a new level here in India,” the minister said.
