Delhi University’s School of Open Learning (SOL) has started the enrollment process for the Centre for Innovative Skill-based Courses (CISBC). This curriculum will offer thirty short-term skill-based certificate courses that are open to everybody.
Professor Payal Mago, Director of SOL, said that the registration procedure, which began on February 15, would continue until March 15, 2024.
Short-term courses
The CISBC was officially launched on January 31 under the auspices of Delhi University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Yogesh Singh.
He opined that this centre would act as a ‘life changer’, facilitating student access to skill-based courses. A brochure detailing all of these courses was also issued on that day.
Professor Payal Mago the Director of SOL elucidated that these valuable skill-based certificate courses would create an opportunity for students to enhance their employability potential.
She emphasised how the courses are designed considering the specific needs of individuals and job requirements in various fields.
The CISBC offers thirty courses, including English Proficiency, GST Executive, Cyber Security, Tax Assessment, Motor Driving, Medical Transcription, Radio Jocking, Bakery and Confectionery, Air Conditioning and Refrigerator Repair, and Beauty and Hair Makeup, among others.
Professor Mago stressed that these courses are effective job-oriented programmes, providing practical skills relevant to current job demands. These cost-effective and accessible courses will offer a joint certification from Delhi University and national/international organisations, enriching the student’s credentials.
She further informed that only limited seats are available for these courses. Therefore, prospective candidates are encouraged to apply soon to secure their place.
