On Monday morning, almost 40 Delhi schools received bomb threats. DPS RK Puram and GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar are among the 44 institutions that have received threats, requiring action. Students have been sent back home, and the police have been notified.
According to reports, the threat was received by email. NDTV obtained a copy of the email, which was sent at 11:38 p.m. on Sunday. The email stated that many explosives had been put within the structures.
“The bombs are small and very well hidden,” the email stated.
A sender of an email has demanded $30,000 to defuse bombs, claiming that the explosions would cause significant damage to the building and cause many people to be injured. The Delhi Police are investigating the sender’s IP address and are searching for the sender.
The alert came between school buses arriving, parents dropping their children off, and staff preparing for the morning assembly. The Delhi Fire Department received calls from GD Goenka School and DPS RK Puram. Fire officials, dog squad, bomb detection teams, and local police conducted a search operation, but no suspicious items were found. The email was a hoax, following an explosion outside a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school in Rohini, which damaged the school wall and nearby shops.
