MakeMyTrip emailed its customers, erroneously saying that ‘Delhi Bandh Hai [Delhi is closed]’ from September 8 to 10. A screenshot of the email was tweeted by Delhi Police, who stated that it is “completely untrue.” Even after receiving a request to retract the email from the department, the travel agency responded with an explanation.
“The email from @makemytripcare makes the erroneous claim that Delhi will be closed from September 8 to September 10 of 2023. There will be limitations in the New Delhi District following the #G20Summit. We ask @makemytrip to clarify and repudiate their email, the Delhi Police tweeted with an image.
The movement will only be restricted in the New Delhi district, Delhi Police said in a post on X. Only legitimate locals will be allowed to move about. Additionally, all crucial services will be available during the G20 Heads of State and Government Summit.
The email sent out by @makemytripcare falsely claims that Delhi is closed from September 08th to 10th, 2023.
