Delhi HC Orders CLAT-2025 Results Reassessment

The Delhi High Court has ordered the Consortium of National Law Universities to reconsider the CLAT-2025 (Common Law Admission Test) results due to inaccuracy in the answer key. The court warned that these errors might impact the merit list and applicant rankings. It emphasized the need of fairness and addressing faults in order to prevent unfairness to kids.

Justice Jyoti Singh, who headed the bench, commented, “The errors in Question Nos. 14 and 100 are demonstrably clear, and shutting a blind eye to the same would be an injustice to the petitioner, albeit this court is conscious of the fact that it may impact the result of other candidates.”

Aditya Singh, a minor, challenged the answer key for CLAT-2025, a law exam used for admission to five-year law programs at National Law Universities (NLUs). He argued that rectifying errors would improve his score and increase his chances of securing admission to one of the top three NLUs. T

he Consortium of NLUs defended the examination process, stating that results were finalized after expert committee recommendations. The court noted that judicial intervention is necessary in exceptional cases where errors cause injustice.

The court partially allowed Aditya’s petition, awarding marks for Question 14 and confirming the exclusion of Question 100. The CLAT examination consists of 120 questions and lasts for two hours.

The CLAT UG paper covers English language, current affairs, logical reasoning, legal reasoning, and quantitative techniques, while the CLAT PG paper covers constitutional law and other legal areas.
