December 2024’s Upcoming English-language Film Releases: In contrast to previous years, there aren’t many Hollywood films available in India this year. Hollywood films have had a difficult year in Indian theaters; some, like Deadpool and Wolverine, have made a lasting impression, while others have completely disappeared. English-language movies are still coming out in December as 2024 draws to a close.
Heretic (Releasing on December 13)
A psychological horror film directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, it stars Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East as two missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They attempt to convert a reclusive man (Hugh Grant) but soon come to realize he is actually more dangerous than he seems.
Kraven The Hunter (Releasing on December 13)
Marvel’s last release for 2024, the film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the title role and explores Kraven’s complex relationship with his father and his path to becoming the greatest hunter. The film also has Russell Crowe in a pivotal role.
The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim (Releasing on December 13)
The animated fantasy film basedcharacters created by J. R. R. Tolkien tells the story of Helm Hammerhand (Cox), a legendary king of Rohan, and his family as they defend their kingdom against an army of Dunlendings. It is set 183 years before The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
Mufasa: The Lion King (Releasing on December 20)
The musical drama by Barry Jenkins is both a prequel and a sequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 The Lion King. The film starts in media res, with Rafiki telling the story of two lions Mufsa and Taka to Kiara, the daughter of Simba and Nala. Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Kani, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter reprise their roles from the remake.
