According to an expert panel’s suggestions, CUET UG and CUET PG will undergo considerable modifications beginning in 2025. The University Grants Commission (UGC) chairperson, Jagadesh Kumar, announced the planned revisions to the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
The UGC has been attempting to improve the CUET process, particularly following prior years’ issues. An expert committee was created to examine different areas of the examination, such as its organization, paper length, syllabus alignment, and operational logistics.
Kumar explained that the review aims to create a more student-friendly experience. “Based on feedback from past years, it is essential to improve the exam process for a more efficient and conducive environment,” he said.
CUET-UG has had difficulties since its launch in 2022, including technological errors and logistical issues. In its initial year, the requirement to normalize results owing to several exam changes encouraged concerns.
The hybrid mode introduced in 2024 also faced criticism after exams were abruptly cancelled in Delhi.
The upcoming changes aim to address recurring issues and improve operational logistics, with stakeholders reviewing and suggesting modifications to the draft guidelines. These updates, as CUET becomes a key pathway for university admissions, ensure fairness and efficiency.
