Bengal Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has taken a swipe at Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of “serving PM Modi” by allegedly hindering the possibility of an alliance between the two parties in Bengal. While some Congress leaders advocate for an alliance with Trinamool to consolidate anti-BJP votes, Chowdhury, aligned with the Left, is against it. He stated that Congress doesn’t need to beg for an alliance, emphasizing their ability to contest independently with two seats.
Chowdhury claimed that Mamata Banerjee is obstructing the alliance, suggesting that she doesn’t want it to materialize. The ongoing dispute over seat-sharing and alliance talks has heightened tensions between the two parties in the state.
Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee, expressing impatience over the Congress missing a seat-sharing deadline, emphasized Trinamool’s commitment to fighting against the BJP in Bengal. The rift underscores a significant difference in approach between the state Congress and the central leadership regarding alliance dynamics.
