The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the opening of online applications for the Central Sector Scheme Scholarships for the academic year 2024-2025. College and university students across India can apply for the scholarship via the official portal, scholarships.gov.in, by October 31, 2024.
According to the notification, students are advised to submit their applications within the stipulated time. Institutions may require students to verify their applications by presenting original documents. Failing to do so will result in the application being deemed invalid.
To apply, students must register on the portal using a One-Time Registration (OTR) number, password, and Captcha code. The OTR system will automatically fetch their details, including photographs and demographics. If any details need updating, students will be required to update their Aadhaar card, and the changes will reflect in their OTR profile through a fresh eKYC process. These updated details will then be automatically reflected in their scholarship application form on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

The CBSE has emphasized that providing incorrect or false information during the application process could lead to immediate rejection of the scholarship. Students, parents, or legal guardians are advised to submit an active mobile number and email address during OTR registration, as all communications will be made through these channels.
Students are encouraged to apply early to avoid last-minute delays or issues.
