Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faced criticism and mockery from the country’s main opposition leader, Pierre Poilievre, who is poised to succeed Trudeau. The opposition leader mocked Trudeau’s struggles during the recent Delhi G20 Summit, where he was reportedly “snubbed” by world leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Pierre Poilievre, a member of the Conservative Party, playfully remarked that no Canadian would like to see their prime minister repeatedly humiliated and trampled upon by the rest of the world. He made these comments on social media in response to a Toronto Sun article showing Trudeau with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the G20 Summit.
During the G20 Summit, Trudeau faced challenges as several world leaders held bilateral meetings with Modi on the sidelines, while Canada was only granted a “pull aside” meeting. During this meeting, Modi raised concerns about Khalistani extremism in Canada and threats against Indian diplomats from Khalistani extremists, while Trudeau discussed India’s alleged interference in Canada.
The Canadian delegation, led by Trudeau, faced an unexpected delay in their departure when a “technical snag” was detected in their aircraft. As a result, they had to extend their stay in India for a few more hours.
