Odisha NH-18 Fatal Collision: Pilgrim Bus Rams into Truck, Ending Life of 3, Leaving 14 Injured.
Baripada, Odisha (ANI): Three persons died, and 14 others were left injured in a tragic accident on Saturday morning in Mayurbhanj district. A bus carrying around 20 pilgrims rammed into a truck on National Highway 18, close to Budikhmari Square, under the jurisdiction of the Betanati Police Station.
The collision occurred at about 5:30 am when the bus, on its way from Hyderabad to Gaya, rammed into the rear of the truck. The dead include the bus driver, Uday Singh of Charminar area in Hyderabad, who died on the spot. Two others succumbed to their injuries during treatment at the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada.
The 14 injured persons are undergoing treatment at the medical college, added the Additional District Medical Officer Bijay Kumar Das. …
The driver of the truck has absconded from the spot following the accident, the police said.
