Bhupinder Singh Hooda Secures Victory with 71,000 Votes

Bhupinder Singh Hooda, a prominent leader of the Indian National Congress and former Chief Minister of Haryana, contested the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections from the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi constituency. He successfully retained his seat, defeating Manju Hooda of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by a substantial margin.

  • Constituency: Garhi Sampla-Kiloi
  • Opponent: Manju Hooda (BJP)
  • Winning Margin: 71,465 votes

Hooda’s victory in the 2024 elections reflects his continued influence in the region, as he previously won this seat in 2019 with a margin of 58,312 votes against Satish Nandal of the BJP. In that election, he secured 97,755 votes (65.82% vote share) compared to Nandal’s 39,443 votes (26.56% vote share). Despite Hooda’s individual success, the Congress party faced challenges overall in the elections, trailing behind the BJP in many constituencies. As of the latest updates, the BJP was leading in approximately 50 out of 90 seats.
