The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-member squad on Saturday (28th August) for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the team, while IPL pace sensation Mayank Yadav has received his maiden call-up.

India will face Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series. The series’ opening game will be played on October 6th in Gwalior, followed by the second game taking place on October 9th in New Delhi and the last game of the series will be played in Hyderabad on October 12th.

Senior players have been rested ahead of the hectic Test schedule while Hardik Pandya returns in the squad. IPL sensation Abhishek Sharma, Rinku Singh have been included in the squad. Ruturaj Gaikwad has been dropped from the side which comes as a massive surprise. It was expected that Ishan Kishan would be making his return, as various reports suggested that too, but it wasn’t the case as he is still on the sidelines, having been terminated from the BCCI’s contract.

Mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy, who last played for India in the T20 World Cup 2021, has been recalled into the team. Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma are the two keeper-batters picked for the series. While Mayank Yadav, India’s pace sensation who consistently clocked mid-150 km/h speeds in IPL also got a maiden call from BCCI.
