Artist Jayasri Burman shared her experience of creating a unique hand-painted lehenga for Radhika Merchant’s wedding with Anant Ambani.
Radhika made her first appearance as part of the Ambani family wearing a pink lehenga, a color now often associated with the family and called “Ambani pink.” The lehenga was designed by the duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla in collaboration with Burman.
Burman told indianexpress.com that she started working on the lehenga directly with her pen and paints, without any preliminary sketch.
She spent an entire month in her studio in Delhi’s Okhla, painting for 15-16 hours every day. “It was like a meditation, painting non-stop to bring this vision to life,” Burman said.
