According to Mark Gurman, Apple may consider releasing new MacBooks and an upgraded iMac before the end of this month. As early as October 30 or 31, these revised models—which might include a new 13-inch MacBook Pro, high-end MacBook Pro, and 24-inch iMac—might be announced.
Gurman notes in Bloomberg’s Power On newsletter that there has been a shortage of Apple’s MacBooks and iMacs. This could mean that Apple is trying to get rid of inventory before making the formal announcement at the end of this month.
Further, the iMac, in particular, has gone more than 900 days without any update to hardware since its launch in 2021 with the M1 chipset—Apple’s first generation in-house silicon.
And, while Apple planned to launch an updated model later, the plans had to be “adjusted.” Nevertheless, Gurman says he’s been told of a “Mac-centered product launch around the end of this month. That could be its chance to announce this model.”
