Anil Kapoor Seeks Delhi High Court Protection for Name, Voice, Signature, and Image Rights

Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor has taken legal action by moving to the Delhi High Court to safeguard his rights concerning his name, voice, signature, and image. The court has responded by issuing an order to prevent unauthorized usage of these elements for commercial purposes, emphasizing that such misuse cannot be tolerated.

The matter was heard by a bench led by Justice Prathiba M Singh.

The Delhi High Court has directed domain registrars, including Godaddy.com LLC, Dynadot LLC, and PDR Limited, to promptly block and suspend domain names like Anilkapoor.com and others that have been used in violation of Anil Kapoor’s rights.

This legal action comes in response to Anil Kapoor’s concerns about the infringement of his publicity and personality rights on social media and various other platforms. According to reports from ANI, the actor seeks a permanent injunction against the unauthorized use of his name, voice, signature, image, or any other attributes that are exclusively associated with him. This injunction applies to both commercial and personal exploitation without his explicit consent.
