New Delhi: On the special occasion of Shane Warne’s birth anniversary, the ‘God of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar has penned a heartfelt note for the late cricketer, one of the finest leg-spinners to have graced the game. Warne, who took 708 Test and 293 ODI wickets in a stunning career from 1992 to 2007, died on March 4 in 2022.

Sachin took to his Twitter handle to share a vintage candid picture with Warne and remembered the legendary player. “Thinking of you on your birthday Warnie! Gone too soon. Had so many memorable moments with you. Will cherish them forever mate,” read the caption.

Tendulkar and Warne have played a lot against each other and were part of some of the most memorable matches between Australia and India. While they were rivals on the field, the duo shared sheer love and respect off the field.

Sachin is currently taking part in the Legends League Cricket, which is currently taking place at Green Park in Kanpur. In the match against South Africa Legends, the Master Blaster scored 16 runs off 15 balls with the help of two fours.

Sachin remains the only batter with over 100 centuries in international cricket. Virat Kohli and Ricky Ponting are second in the list with 71 centuries apiece. Warne, on the other hand, retired around 15 years ago but remains the second-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket after the legendary Muttiah Muralitharan.
