JMI Announces Significant Fee Hike for 2025-26; Increases Up to 41%
JMI (Jamia Millia Islamia) has announced a fee hike for the academic session 2025-26. Fees have increased from 16% to 41% from the last year and the hike has hence been significant.
The fees of Persian and Arabic courses have increased by 41.41% from 6700 to 9475 annually. The Arabic department has increased by 37.15%, from Rs 7,200 to Rs 9,875 per year.
The fees for social science courses such as MA and BA (Political Science), four-year BA, and BCom are now Rs 9,875 per annum. Earlier it was Rs 7,425, i.e. an increment of 32.99%. Science courses like BSc, Geography, Mathematics, and Physics have increased by 34.29%. Their fees have increased from ₹ 7,800 to ₹ 10,475 per year.
Fees for Btech, MTech, and Law courses have also risen significantly. BTech fees have increased by 19.04% from ₹16,150 to ₹19,225 annually. At the same time, MTech fees are now ₹ 21,375 per year, which has increased by 16.48%. Law courses such as LLM and BA LLB have increased by 19%. Their fees have increased from ₹ 15,000 to ₹ 17,850 annually. Excessive fees would also increase the burden on the students.
At the same time, JMI has introduced 14 new courses. The scope of admission has also expanded by CUET score. This year, admission will be done based on CUET in 25 courses.
