Israel Strikes Gaza’s Nasser Hospital, Casualties Reported
Israel's military struck the largest hospital in Southern Gaza in the city of Khan Younis on 24 March 2025, Sunday night. The territory’s Health minister reported many casualties including one person who was killed and many others who were brutally injured causing a large fire in the hospital.
Israel's military confirmed the strike on the Nasser Hospital, saying it was targeting one of Hamas's military bases. Moreover, regarding civilian deaths, it blames Hamas, saying it operates in densely populated areas.
The ceasefire is in complete shambles. The January ceasefire halted over a year of conflict after Hamas’ October 7, 2023, attack on Israel. In the first phase, 25 hostages and eight bodies were exchanged for 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. Talks for the next phase, involving the release of 59 hostages, a lasting ceasefire, and Israeli withdrawal, never began.
