In a shocking incident that has stunned Karnataka, former Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash was found murdered at his residence in Bengaluru’s HSR Layout on Sunday, April 20. The 68-year-old retired IPS officer was discovered in a pool of blood on the ground floor of his home, with his wife, Pallavi, emerging as the prime suspect.

Police have taken Pallavi and their daughter, Kriti, into custody as they investigate the events leading up to the killing. According to a PTI report, the crime followed a heated altercation. Pallavi allegedly threw chilli powder into Om Prakash’s eyes, tied him up, smashed a bottle over him, and stabbed him multiple times with a kitchen knife.

She later confessed during interrogation, claiming she acted in self-defence after facing threats from her husband. The couple was reportedly in a long-standing dispute over property, including land in Dandeli.

Sources say Pallavi also poured boiling oil on him before the stabbing. After the attack, she reportedly called a friend and said, “I have killed the monster,” prompting police intervention.
