Apple’s Foldable iPhone Set for 2026 Launch, Ultra-Thin iPhone 17 Air Coming in 2025
Apple is rumored to revamp its iPhone lineup in 2025 by replacing the Plus variant with the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, featuring a 5.5mm profile. While it may compromise on speakers and camera quality, it promises better battery life and sets the stage for Apple's first foldable iPhone, expected in 2026.
According to Mark Gurman, the foldable iPhone will adopt a book-style design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold, with a 7.8-inch main display and a 5.5-inch external screen. To improve durability, Apple may use liquid metal hinges and a titanium chassis while possibly replacing Face ID with a Touch ID sensor.
The device is expected to be 4.5mm when unfolded and around 9mm when folded, making it one of the slimmest foldables. Priced at approximately $2,000 (₹1.72 lakh), its initial production may be limited, with a potential release as part of the iPhone 18 series.
