Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus hosted the renowned Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), Institution Innovation Council (IIC), Regional Meet, Noida. Regional meets are the flagship program of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), and they are intended to provide a networking platform for IIC institutions and prospective IIC institutions to celebrate their contributions to institutionalizing and streamlining their campus innovation ecosystems, as well as leading the innovation movement in Higher Education Institutions.
This Regional Meet attracted approximately 800-1000 participants from 300 IIC Institutions, 50 ATL Schools, 50 Non IIC Institutions, more than 20 Regional Ecosystem Enablers, 100 Innovators & Startups, 50 ATL Schools, 50 Experts, Mentors, and Policymakers, and 10 State and Central Government Agencies.
The Meet was inaugurated by Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt of India, Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Dipan Sahu, Asst. Innovation Director, MIC, Dr. Jitender Kumar, Managing Director, BIRAC, Dr. Mamta Rani, Advisor-I, AICTE and Dr (Prof) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh.
During the Inaugural Session, Guest of Honor, Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman, AICTE, stated, “India will become the most developed nation in the world by 2047, and during this Amrit Kaal, we must take higher education to the next level and work on various transformational reforms.”
NEP 2020 includes excellent policies and initiatives that must be implemented over the next 25 years to make India the world’s knowledge capital, but it is not being implemented. Providing instruction in mother language is part of Amrit Kaal’s aim to reach as many people as possible.
As a result, we have produced several publications in regional languages and implemented examination modifications. Examinees’ rote learning and writing must alter. We have also made significant progress in integrating skill development into schooling, as skill development is critical for the country’s development.
India’s ambition is to become not just “Aatm Nirbhar,” or self-sufficient, but also a “Vishwa Daata,” or “provider,” as shown during the epidemic, when India gave vaccinations to over 100 countries and assisted them.” He praised Amity Education Group for its significant contribution to nation development.
Dr. Atul Chauhan, Chancellor of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, emphasized the importance of innovation in India’s future. He emphasized the potential of the youth to become the scientific and economic superpower of the world.
The Ministry of Education’s Innovation Council emphasized the need for 40-50% higher education institutions to have an Institution Innovation Council System by 2027 to promote entrepreneurship and grow the start-up ecosystem. Dr. Mamta Rani, Advisor-I of AICTE, emphasized the importance of innovation in teaching and learning processes, academia-industry relationships, and collaboration.
Amity University Vice Chancellor, Balvinder Shukla, called for students to visit the Amity Innovation Incubator to discuss ideas and receive guidance. Dr. Jitender Kumar, Managing Director of BIRAC, emphasized the need for an institutional mechanism for venture creation. The day-long meet included Round Table Discussions, Orientation Sessions, and start-up exhibitions.
