The Indian government, led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure nation by strengthening all facets of the national security apparatus. In order to accomplish this, the two-day National Security Strategies (NSS) Conference-2023 was launched in New Delhi by Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah.
Through a combination of physical and virtual modalities, over 750 individuals from across the nation joined the Conference, including officers working at the cutting edge and topic experts. The highest personnel in charge of overseeing matters of national security, including the Union Home Secretary, Deputy NSAs, DGsP/IGsP of all States/UTs, and CAPFs, were among those who attended the conference in Delhi.
In remembrance of the anonymous martyrs who gave their lives in the line of duty, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah laid a wreath at the Martyrs Column prior to the start of the Conference.
Discussions about trends in terrorism and drug financing in India, the use of forensic science in investigations, social challenges, emergency preparedness for nuclear and radiological emergencies, and cyber security framework took place on the first day of the conference.
The Union Home Minister stressed the vital role District Level Police personnel play in managing internal security during the sessions while interacting with the participants. He also exhorted modern police personnel to employ more scientific methods when conducting investigations.
Along with other matters pertaining to citizen security and India, the Home Minister reaffirmed the Government’s resolve to combating the drug trafficking evil. He praised the efforts made by various agencies in this sector and asked all the states and organisations to keep up their tough enforcement against drug traffickers and networks.
On Friday, August 25, 2023, Shri Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, will deliver a speech during the Conference’s closing session.
