Amazon Offers Free ‘AI Ready’ Courses for Career Transformation

Amazon has launched an innovative initiative to provide free AI skills training to 2 million individuals worldwide by 2025. The program, dubbed “AI Ready,” aims to provide access to the in-demand skills required to exploit next-generation AI technology through new courses and hands-on learning experiences for both students and working professionals.

Amazon announced the launch as the results of an internal investigation revealed substantial employer demand for AI skills. Workers with AI abilities may expect to earn up to 47% more than their counterparts, giving a significant financial advantage for those who use Amazon’s free training materials.

AI Ready is made up of three major components:

There are eight new free AI courses available.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is now offering eight free online courses that cover both fundamental AI topics and practical application development. There are workshops for non-technical users as well as sophisticated prompt engineering and machine learning coding training for developers.

Scholarships for Generative AI

AWS and online learning platform Udacity have announced a new partnership that will provide over 50,000 high school and college students access to a specialized course on generative AI. Students will receive an authentic Udacity certificate upon completion to confirm their skills.

Creative AI coding lessons

Amazon Future Engineer, the company’s childhood-to-career computer science education initiative, is collaborating with the nonprofit coding organization Code.org on a one-hour introduction to AI ideas for K-12 students. Participants will use emojis and lyrics from popular songs to program AI-generated choreographed dances and animated backgrounds.

This initiative, named ‘Hour of Code,’ will take place internationally during Computer Science Education Week, December 4-10, and is intended for students and instructors in kindergarten through 12th grade.
