AICTE Releases Happiness Rankings and Awards for Indian Higher Education Colleges

The Happiness Rankings and Awards for higher education colleges in India have been released by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). Institutions will henceforth be evaluated based on the AICTE-approved YOL happiness score.  The next Happiness Rankings and Awards were announced by Prof. T. G. Sitharaman, Chairman of AICTE. The YOL (Your One Life) team under the auspices of AICTE curated the awards. Applications are being accepted from all Indian higher education institutions.

YOL- Happiness Programme

The YOL-Happiness program, founded by Yogi Kochhar, has been approved for higher education credit. The program addresses the issue of screen time, which consumes 6 hours per day, causing mental health issues. AICTE has taken up the Prime Minister’s concern, urging institutions to reduce screen time and promote a more balanced approach to education.

Technology is a wonderful tool, but it can also be a blessing or a curse. For up to $400 billion USD, or 40% of their valuations, some of the well-known social media businesses with trillion dollar valuations have occupied the minds of one billion Indians. We must regain, secure, and increase our mindshare in India as it is our most valuable human resource and capital, he continued.

To prevent this brain drain, a special app called YOL-YourOneLife on Happiness has been approved by AICTE and is currently being distributed to institutions so that all of our students can use it, according to Prof. T. G. Sitharaman. From this session forward, institutions will be evaluated based on the AICTE-approved YOL Happiness Index, even if they are free to use it as a credit-bearing elective, blended, or audit course. This is important for all students in all topics and semesters and will prevent students’ attention spans from dwindling. It will also promote the assimilation of all taught material.

Yogesh Kochhar and Harvansh Chawla’s YOL program aims to enhance students’ social and emotional development. The app offers a credit-bearing program that calibrates pupils on nine parameters. The spatial and temporal dimensions of the mind are consolidated, reinforced, expanded, and deepened, enabling pupils to focus on themselves first. Students will be encouraged to interact with themselves through the app, which will enhance their overall educational experience.
