Telugu actor Allu Arjun has been taken into custody by Hyderabad Police in relation to the death of a lady in a stampede at a screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule.
The incident happened on December 4 at a Hyderabad theater at the launch of Arjun’s most recent movie, Pushpa 2: The Rule. The tragedy claimed the life of a 35-year-old lady, and her nine-year-old son was hospitalized after suffocating.
At the Chikkadpally police station, Arjun was arrested and interrogated. Her son Sri Teja, who also suffocated and is still in the hospital recuperating, was with the deceased Revathi.
In accordance with articles 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), a case was filed against Arjun, his security detail, and the theater management after the complaint by the deceased’s family. A second fan died at a Pushpa 2 screening on Monday, with 35-year-old Harijana Madhannappa found dead by the theatre’s cleaning staff.
