Indian knowledge system and solving global concerns are the two guiding ideas of the New Education Policy. According to Dharmendra Pradhan, minister of education, the next 30 years are critical because they present a demographic dividend that our administration is seeking to maximize.
Pradhan elaborated on the fundamentals of the education strategy, saying, “Our new education policy was founded after 34 years.” It has considered our knowledge system.”
India is a country that places a high value on knowledge, and its knowledge system has never operated according to set rules. India has consistently adapted with the times while taking context into consideration. Our education policy is based on the fact that our knowledge system is constantly growing, the minister stated.
Pradhan went on to say that the second factor is based on global demand. “Six months ago, no one had heard of ChatGPT; now it’s a reality.” We have AI and other technological developments. It is transforming global geography into global cities. No company in the world does not have a back-end company in India. Around 100 million of India’s 140 million people are under the age of 35. This option will be open to us for another 30 years, after which we will become an ageing population. Our children work in different time zones, according to the working hours of other nations. As they avoid China, the globe is increasingly reliant on our programmes.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced a new education policy that recognises all Indian languages as national languages and advocates for decolonization. The policy intends to include children as young as three years old in formal education and to provide teaching and learning materials.
“During UPA regime I, Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya was built in every district, which may total to over 700 to 750 schools,” Pradhan added, highlighting the difference between the UPA and NDA governments. It’s an excellent institution. However, the Modi government only built 750 schools in the tribal block.
