According to reports, the Aam Aadmi Party has selected Raghav Chadha as the party’s Rajya Sabha leader in lieu of Sanjay Singh.
In a letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman, the AAP party leadership stated that in the absence of Sanjay Singh, who is suffering from “health issues,” Raghav Chadha will be the party’s leader in the Upper House from now on.
Sanjay Singh, an AAP MP, is now imprisoned in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.
Sources in the Rajya Sabha secretariat revealed that the AAP had sent a letter selecting Chadha as its floor leader.
The letter has been forwarded to the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha for action.
Chadha is one of the Rajya Sabha’s youngest members. The AAP presently has ten MPs in the Upper House.
After the BJP, the Congress, and the TMC, the AAP has the fourth-largest representation in Rajya Sabha.
