Shraddha Walker Murder Case: Aaftab made attempts to kill Shraddha before actual murder

New Delhi: Aaftab Ameen Poonwala, who has been arrested by Delhi Police for killing his live-in partner Shraddha Walker, told the authorities that he had tried to kill her before but changed his mind after she became emotional and started crying. Sources told India Today that on that day too, Aaftab and Shraddha had an argument surrounding the topic of marriage.

Earlier, it was revealed that Shraddha wanted to marry Aftab but he was unwilling. This led to frequent quarrels between them.

He further told the police that Shraddha would get angry with him whenever he talked to someone as she doubted his intentions and the two would often quarrel about this too.

Aaftab had killed Shraddha on May 18, chopped her body parts into 35 pieces and dumped them in the Mehrauli forest area over a period of 18 days. The police are still searching for Shraddha’s head.

According to the police, the first body parts of Shraddha that Aaftab disposed of were her liver and intestines. On Monday, the Delhi Police took Aaftab to the flat in Delhi where the two were living to recreate the crime scene.

As per the recreation of the crime scene, after the couple started quarrelling on May 18, Aaftab first beat up Shraddha, following which she became unconscious. After she became unconscious, Aaftab sat on Shraddha’s chest and proceeded to kill her by strangling her.

After strangulating Shraddha and chopping up her body, Aftab allegedly purchased a 300-litre refrigerator to store the parts that he then threw away in parts of a Delhi forest over 16 days.

Aaftab had used hypochloric acid to clean the fridge and the room where the murder took place, due to which the forensic team could not find blood stains.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police will likely get the data from Aaftab’s laptop today, November 16. They will also record the statements of some of Aaftab’s friends.

The search for Shraddha’s missing body parts will continue.
