According to ANI, the Ram Temple-themed Durga Pandal will be opened today, October 16, at Santosh Mitra Square in north Kolkata by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which is still under construction, served as inspiration for the pandal. According to BJP leader Sajal Ghosh, the official event would begin at 4 pm in the Santosh Mitra Square Puja. The Santosh Mitra Square Puja Committee is in charge of organising the Durga Puja pandal, also referred to as Sajay Ghosh’s Puja.
The continuing construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya served as the inspiration for this year’s theme, “Ram Temple.”
During the Kolkata Assembly elections in 2021, Amit Shah also declared open the Puja pandal. During that period, the BJP organised Durga Puja celebrations in Bengal, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually took part in the ceremony.
Amit Shah spent the weekend in Gujarat as a part of his three-day stay there. He went to the World Cup match between India and Pakistan at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Additionally, he paid visits to youngsters from “Anganwadi” centres in his Lok Sabha district. Shah wrote on the social media platform X (previously Twitter): “Today I went to a gaming zone with the kids of Anganwadi centres in my Lok Sabha constituency. The children of Anganwadi centres in my Lok Sabha constituency get all the possible facilities and happiness that children from affluent families get”.
On October 15, he dedicated the “Samau Shaheed Memorial,” which had been created as a memorial to the 12 Mansa rebels who had been hanged by the British during the 1857 uprising. He then spoke to a crowd and opened a library in the Gandhinagar district of Gujarat. Later that day, on the first day of the Navratri holiday, Shah took part in the ‘Kesariya’ Garba celebration in Surat.
