Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, today gave eminent scientists under the age of 45 the Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar National Awards at a ceremony held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize winners all received heartfelt congratulations from Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in a written letter. He also wished everyone connected to CSIR success on the 82nd CSIR Foundation Day.
The Prime Minister delivered a written message but was unable to attend in person due to other commitments. Dr. Jitendra Singh read the letter.
In his address, the Prime Minister praised CSIR for its important role in advancing society, business, and the country. The message specifically mentioned the Aroma Mission, advancements in floriculture, the Purple Revolution sparked by lavender farming in Jammu and Kashmir, and the construction of Steel Slag roads along the nation’s borders as just a few examples of the CSIR’s contribution to achieving national aspirations.
According to Dr. Jitendra Singh, the CSIR may become the backbone of the STI journey in Amrit kaal to make India a Global Tech-Hub under the visionary leadership of the Prime Minister, and the 100th anniversary of the CSIR in 2042 might pave the way for India’s 100th year of independence in glory in 2047.
