The Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) has earned an “A+” rating from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), making it the first institution in the state to do so.
In an interview with The Tribune, VC Professor Sat Prakash Bansal stated that the university’s achievement of this NAAC rating—despite lacking a permanent campus—is a source of great pride. According to him, the university received the grade for its “exemplary work in the field of research.”
The NAAC team recently visited the CUHP campus in Dharamsala, the vice chancellor said, and they expressed their satisfaction with the university’s effort in carrying out research projects and putting the National Education Policy (NEP) into practice.
The varsity is now operating out of its temporary campuses at Dehra, Shahpur, and Dharamsala.
For the development of permanent campuses in the Dehra (South campus) and Jadrangal (North Campus) areas of the Dharamsala Assembly constituency, the Centre has approved a grant of Rs 500 crore.
