He described the relationship as steady and resilient, highlighting its ability to withstand difficult situations. PM Modi also expressed that the partnership between India and France has been bold and ambitious in seeking opportunities for cooperation.
During his visit to France, PM Modi aimed to strengthen the relationship between the two countries further. He participated as the guest of honor in the French Bastille Day celebrations on July 14, with an Indian tri-services contingent taking part in the parade and the Indian Air Force performing a fly-past.
PM Modi also discussed India’s role as a bridge between the Global South and the western world. He highlighted the importance of recognizing the rights and aspirations of countries in the Global South, stating that India can provide strong support and leadership to this community. He emphasized the need for collective strength and leadership from the Global South to ensure their voice is heard and their interests are represented on the global stage.
PM Narendra Modi emphasized India’s contributions to global economic growth, technological advancements, and human development. He acknowledged the global challenges faced today, such as recession, food security, inflation, and social tensions, and expressed optimism about the future and India’s potential to play a vital role in addressing these challenges. PM Modi also mentioned the Indian government’s vision for India to become a developed country by 2047, the 100th anniversary of India’s independence.
PM Modi highlighted India’s soft power, rooted in its civilizational ethos and heritage. He mentioned that India’s exports have historically focused on areas such as yoga, Ayurveda, spirituality, science, mathematics, and astronomy, which contribute to global peace and progress.
