Samruddhi Expressway – Nearly 1000 vehicles entry denied between April 1-Jun 30

The transport authority stated that between April 1 and June 30, 1000 vehicles were barred from using the Samruddhi Expressway due to warm out tyres.

The expressway’s 601-kilometer stretch from Nagpur to Nasik is where 25 passengers were burnt to death after the bus flipped and caught fire after the diver lost control of the vehicle.

According to the data supplied in relation to the intervention by the transport authorities, teams from 8 regional transport officers (RTOs) have counselled 21,053 motorists while refusing access to 973 vehicles for worn out tyres on the Samruddhi highway since April 1 this year, according to PTI.

“The groups were from Amravati, Aurangabad, Washim, Buldhana, Jalna, Shrirampur and Nashik RTOs. A sum of 234 drivers were gotten for speeding, including 77 through a modernized system introduced on the course, which has a plan speed of 150 kmph and cutoff of 120 kmph,” an authority said.

Despite the fact that lane cutting and no parking are also significant causes of accidents on the road, evidence indicates that RTO teams have concentrated more on additional violations.

According to official data, 3169 motorists were ticketed for ‘no parking’ offences, 2204 for ‘lane cutting,’ and 1043 for not having reflective strips that make the car visible to other vehicles at night.
